  Red Bluff

description: Red Bluff is a picturesque bouldering-only area situated on the clear, cool waters of the Medina River. Located 20 miles northwest of San Antonio, Red Bluff offers over 150 problems from VB(beginner) to Joe Sulaks' "Opportunity" (V10) and Chris Haggertys' "The Matrix" (V11?), with potential for even harder lines. The sloper covered Fountainbleau Wall and Daves' Wall are north facing and great summer bouldering areas. The Cypress Wall area is classic. Hidden in the shadows of massive Cypress Tress, all the problems can be sent to the background sound of rushing water. The Boulder Field consists of one of the highest concentrations of high quality true boulders out side of E-Rock. If horizontal climbing is more desirable, then the Cave is the place to visit. Water bouldering is quite nice in the heat of the summer. All in all, Red Bluff supports a huge variety of lines, in all styles and grades.
